Getting around in lweru is a major challenge

The roads in the Diocese of Lweru tell their own story. Many are unpaved, riddled with deep potholes, and often washed out during the rainy season. For Bishop Godfrey and his team, these roads are not merely obstacles; they are the lifelines that connect them to the people they serve. They lead to churches where they preach, villages where they provide pastoral care, and communities where they administer sacraments and offer hope. They also carry essential supplies to outlying communities, ensuring that those in greatest need receive the essentials needed to survive.

But the toll these roads take on a vehicle is immense. Even the most robust cars struggle to navigate the rugged landscape, and frequent breakdowns become a costly and time-consuming reality. Without a reliable vehicle, Bishop Godfrey’s ability to reach his congregations is severely hindered.

Why a Land Cruiser Prado?

A Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is not just a vehicle; it is a lifeline. Known for its durability and ability to withstand some of the harshest terrains on earth, the Land Cruiser is perfectly suited for the Diocese of Lweru. With its rugged construction, high ground clearance, and dependable engine, it can traverse muddy tracks, rocky paths, and flooded roads. Ensuring that the diocese can meet the needs of the people without constant interruptions.

"Not long ago we were on a journey and  the car broke down and as a result it was off the road for 3 days.  We had to stay locally and wait while the car was repaired It cost over $1000!

This is happening more and more often. Sometimes we don't have the money for the repairs and we have to ask our international partners for help."

Providing Bishop Godfrey with this vehicle will have a major transformative impact on the Diocese.  Beyond spiritual care, Bishop Godfrey’s visits often include initiatives to improve education, health, and infrastructure in local communities.

Reliable transportation means more time ministering to people and less time dealing with vehicle repairs and delays.  It will enable him to reach the most isolated communities in the diocese, ensuring no congregation is overlooked.
