Building for the Future
Welcome to the All Saints’ Cathedral, Lweru page. Here you can follow the remarkable journey of the cathedral from its foundations to its eventual consecration.
All Saints’ Cathedral will be far more than a new building. It will become the spiritual and missionary heart of the Diocese of Lweru—a house of worship and prayer where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached, people are invited into a living relationship with Him, the sick receive prayer, and believers are renewed through the power of the Holy Spirit. It will also provide a central place where clergy, lay evangelists and revival teams can be trained, equipped and sent out to strengthen churches and proclaim Christ throughout the diocese.
From this centre of faith and mission, the cathedral will also serve the wider community. It will provide a welcoming place for widows and widowers to gather and receive fellowship and support. Children will have opportunities to worship, learn, grow and participate in activities within a safe and nurturing environment. Women’s gatherings will encourage, equip and empower women while strengthening fellowship and unity across the community.
We invite you to pray for Bishop Godfrey and the Diocesan Council as they step out in faith to lead this important mission. Your prayers and support will help establish a cathedral dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel, forming disciples, renewing the Church and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ for generations to come.
The cathedral will also offer pastoral counselling, prayer and practical support for families experiencing conflict or crisis and for people living with HIV and AIDS. This ministry reflects the diocese’s commitment to proclaiming the Gospel not only in words, but through the healing, restoring and compassionate love of Jesus Christ. By ministering to the spiritual, emotional and practical needs of individuals and families, the cathedral will become a visible expression of God’s Kingdom at work in Tanzania.
The $500,000 required to complete All Saints’ Cathedral represents far more than an investment in bricks and mortar. It is an investment in a permanent centre for worship, evangelism, revival, Christian formation and compassionate service. From this cathedral, clergy and lay leaders will be trained and sent out, the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be proclaimed, the sick and suffering will receive prayer and pastoral care, and families and communities will be strengthened. All Saints’ Cathedral will stand as a lasting witness to the faith, hope and transforming love of Christ throughout Lweru.
