The administrative center of Diocese is based in the town of Muleba, 90 km from Bukoba town along the Biharamulo - Mwanza main road.
The Bishop’s Office and Secretariat
The principal departments, ministries and institutions are:
- Mission and Evangelism Department
- Lweru Bible School
- Youth Department
- Children’s Department
- Mothers’ Union (UMAKI) Office
- Development Office, including the Church and Community Mobilisation Process (CCMP)
- Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) for children with disabilities
- Katoke–Lweru Secondary School
- Compassion International Children’s Centres at Minziro and Kasindaga
Together, these ministries equip the Church to proclaim the Gospel, form disciples, train Christian leaders and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ through practical service to children, families and communities throughout Lweru.

Bishop Godfrey Mbelwa understands the daily pressures experienced by the people of Lweru, including the clergy and diocesan staff. Low incomes and the rising cost of food, education and other basic family needs can create great anxiety and place considerable strain upon individuals and families.
In the midst of these challenges, Bishop Godfrey continually reminds his staff that nothing is impossible with God. Drawing upon St Paul’s words, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” he encourages them to serve faithfully and work diligently while keeping their hearts anchored in Christ.
For Bishop Godfrey, joy is not a denial of hardship. It is an expression of faith that God remains present, that hope is never lost and that no difficulty is beyond His power to redeem. His simple reminder, “Peace begins with a smile,” expresses his desire that the joy of the Lord should remain visible in the life and witness of the diocese.
